THE ADVENTURE OF RISYSTEM

In 1999, development engineer Romano Matthys and Prof. Stephan Perren initiated the development of standardized and reproducible implant technology for murine and rodent bone regeneration studies.

The lack of such technology triggered the ongoing development of the idea.

Systems used so far hitherto were not available at large and e.g. not standardized in stability or introduced uncontrolled loading.

The implant kits opens new fields of interaction e.g. in molecular biology, where knockout techniques require the use of proper internal fixation in mice which represents the clinical situation.

Founded in 2011 by Romano Matthys and the AO Foundation with the aim to provide the research community with standardized implant technology for murine and rodent bone regeneration studies.

RISystem AG provides highly standardized implant technology for basic research.

The implant systems are exclusively made out of medical grade materials to ensure biocompatibility. The surgical technique is simple and easy to learn.
